Jacky Davis and David Soman are a husband and wife team. Inspired by their own children, they write the Ladybug Girl books together and Mr. Soman does the illustrations. Their daughter Lucy used to play dress up (her ladybug boots and antennae were her favorite costume) and make up games in the backyard. When their son, Sam, saw his sister in the illustrations for the first book, he asked where the book about Sammy was. Bumblebee Boy was born!
