Read for Our Schools

Read online between now and October 6 and help make it possible for children across the United States to take part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record — with their very own copy of the official book of this year's campaign.
Between now and this year's record-breaking reading event, we aim to donate 50,000 copies of Llama Llama Red Pajama to children in more than 200 school districts as a part of the Read for Our Schools campaign! Each of these districts has already agreed to help set a new world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day. (It's a record we help set last year when more than 2 million people took part.)
This fall marks the fifth annual Jumpstart's Read for the Record celebration. Each year, Read for the Record brings millions of adults and children together in schools, libraries, and community centers to set a new world record for the largest shared reading experience. Again this year, We Give Books is sharing books and making it possible for more children to take part in this important — and fun — celebration of literacy. Read now, so that we can share 50,000 books as part of this year's campaign. Then, be sure to come back to We Give Books on October 6 and help us set new records for the largest shared reading experience. Your reading on We Give Books will count toward the new world record, and will help us set a brand new record too for the most people reading a book online in a single day.
You can also pledge to read on October 6, 2011 by visiting our Read for the Record site now!
