World Literacy Help support literacy efforts around the world.
Each winter, celebrate the holidays with We Give Books’ A Season of Giving campaign! Each holiday season, We Give Books donates hundreds of thousands of brand-new paperback and hardcover books to children across the United States and around the globe. With your help, we support great nonprofit organizations that work to build libraries, fund schools, provide education to low-income children, and share books with those who otherwise might not have access to them.
During the 2012-2013 Season of Giving, we supported world literacy initiatives around the world with partners Room to Read; Books for Asia; Harlem Children’s Zone; One Book Two Book; and Ready, Set, Read!
Thanks to donations from We Give Books readers around the world, we sent nearly 1,000 additional books to great nonprofit organizations that work to build libraries, fund schools, provide education to low-income children, and share books with those who otherwise might not have access to them. We also provided readers the opportunity to give a book on behalf of a friend! After reading, our readers had the option to fill out a simple form at the end of the book, and we sent an email to let their friends know about the gift.

We Give Books Around the World Pinterest Contest
During the 2012-2013 holiday season, we also gave pinners the chance to help give books just by pinning in our Around the World Pinterest contest. We’ve selected a handful of worthy international organizations, and let you decide which one will receive a library of Penguin books. Our pinners voted to give books to Rescued Readers, I Have a Dream Foundation, Red Rock ELC, and Palapa Society.
